Description
The Cockpit dates from the 17th century and originally stood in the yard of the Hawk and Buckle Inn in Denbigh. It fell into disuse following the outlawing of cockfighting in 1849 but was rescued and re-erected at the Museum of Welsh Life, St Fagans, in 1967.

It is stone circular building, 26ft in diameter, with a conical straw thatched roof of oak timbers and a square headed entrance.
