Grove Colliery was opened in 1856. It was worked in conjunction with the nearby Stepaside Ironworks (nprn 40500) and was served by the Stepaside Section of the Saundersfoot Railway (nprn 43051). The colliery closed in 1873; surviving remains include a fine stone-built beam-engine house (at NGR SN1 3908 07110), various earthworks and some shafts.
