Description
One of a group of mid nineteenth century farmbuildings at Brixton Farm (NPRN 17136) and a rare example of a horse engine house or horse whim.
This is an octagonal building with stone rubble piers and openings infilled in modern brick. It has a pyramidal roof. From the engine house a driveshaft communicated with the nearby hayloft (see NPRN 31574), powering a range of farm machinary.
