Description
Felindre Colliery Engine House was originally a steam pump engine house of rusticated Pennant sandstone that was built in 1879 by the colliery proprietors Cory and Yeo. The engine house is thought to have originally been part of a project to build a railway several miles long to serve the Felindre Pit and the Daren Colliery, connecting to the tramway at Cwm Clydach. The enterprise was abandonded, possibly as a result of quicksand. The structure, which overlooks the Lower Lliw Reservoir, is now used as a dwelling.
