DescriptionAn incline haulage winding engine, part of a group of small buildings depicted as Bedwellty Levels (coal) on the1884 OS map. The stone-built winding frame measures 8.2m (north-south) x 7.25m and is 2.2m high, with two cast-iron winding drums. The drums are 3.5m in diameter and 2.1m wide, and there is also an iron axle tree, mounting blocks and a pit containing old cable. The north side is open, and there is access to the south side. At the time of survey in 2013, the structure had been recently restored.
