DescriptionThe remains of Cwmaman iron furnace, dating from the late sixteenth-century, are situated in the valley bottom. Visible is a grass-covered mound, some 10m in diameter and 2.5m high, with the internal walls of the furnace, 1.6m square and 0.8-1.7m high, exposed upon its summit. An adjacent hollow or terrace to the west is thought to represent a working area.
