DescriptionA fine group of works buildings including two blast-furnaces, a blowing-engine house, casting-house and workshops. Founded 1827 by Matthew Wayne ex-Cyfarthfa. It is believed that the striking refurbished engine-house was contemporary with the final pair of furnaces of 1855-56. To the SW lie the calcining furnaces set into a bank in Elm Grove. Production ceased in 1866.
