DescriptionThe West Usk Lighthouse was James Walker's earliest lighthouse and it was lit for the first time in December 1821. The builders were Ben Batchelor and John Williams of Newport. The light house is a tapering brick tower 4.88m (16ft) diameter and 16.76m (55ft) high, with drum shaped living accommodation of 14.9m (49ft) diameter. The lantern was out of use by 1922 although a replica has now been added.
