Description
The Vale of Neath Railway joined the Great Western Railway's high-level South Dock Branch at WInd Street Junction and immediately to the south was Wind Street Station. It opened in July 1863 as the terminus of the V of N passenger service but closed in March 1873 as the passenger trains were causing delays to the goods traffic. The station booking office and waiting rooms were in the arches under the viaduct, and the wooden platform, 79.25m long and 4.88m wide, was reached by a flight of stairs from ground level.
