This building was the original mid-1830s weigh house for the Ffestiniog Railway (nprn 34660), superceded in 1856 by that at Boston Lodge (nprn 34923). Subsequently used as a crossing keeper's lodge for the adjacent level crossing (nprn 34936), it is a two-storeyed building with slate-stone elevations laid in thin heavily mortared slabs under a part-hipped slate roof with wide-boarded eaves and rubble chimney stacks.
