Site Record

A much altered 18th century or earlier building of brick or masonry construction with slate roof, formerly the Spread Eagles Inn during the 18th and 19th centuries. The building retains its timber framing internally, including ceiling beams and truses, and there is a reset 17th century door frame to the ground floor. The detailing of the ceiling beams, joists, and an internal partion suggest that parts of the building may be 16th century or earlier.
