Description
A subrectangular levelled area, 74m NW-SE by 36m, symetrical about its long axis, levelled into N-facing slopes & surrounded by yew trees, outgrown from a hedge, originally a bowling green, latterly an 'American Garden': a sunken area at the SE end is thought to represent the remains of a grotto, before which is the octagonal plinth of a now-removed 18th C. sundial.
