DescriptionAn early storeyed hall and cross-wing. In houses of this type, the cross-wing incorporates a parlour near the entry. The house was modernized by the Gwysaney estate in the C19th. Nevertheless, the parlour has remained relatively intact retaining the lateral fireplace and the deep chamfered framed ceiling of 1600 or earlier. A stair was probably sited between parlour and service room. The wing appears to have been close studded originally. Assessed for tree-ring dating in Nov. 2017. R.F. Suggett/RCAHMW/Nov. 2017.
