DescriptionWaen Farmhouse was built as part of the Mostyn Estate, this two-storey farmhouse is of late-medieval origin with major remodelling in the early seventeeth-century. The core of the house represents the original dwelling with open hall, dais partition and canopy and solar.
Wallpaintings; First floor room, behind former dais partition: paintings on wattle-and-daub panels. Freehand tendril design in black line on a yellow ochre background, side-shoots from tendrils have flowers in red or ochre. Pattern originally extended across the studs. Lower border of a horizontal scroll with red flowers between two horizontal lines: below a dado of plain yellow ochre.
Date uncertain - probably early 17th century.
