DescriptionNos 20 and 22, Drybridge Street, Monmouth, were formerly built as one house in the mid-late 18th century, as a 2 1/2 storey, 5-bay, end-chimney house, with central entry and stair. In the mid 19th century they were converted into their present form with tripartite sash windows to ground-floor, 2-doorways and gable-dormers added.
A projection at the rear is the remaining 2-bays of an earlier, c.1600, former timber-framed, 2-storey house which has had its walls replaced by stone and brick. The front of the original framed building was replaced by the 18th century, 5-bay house.
