Description
A fishpond in a dell north-west of Llawhaden Castle (NPRN 94109) is depicted on the 1st edition OS County series (Pembroke. XXVIII.4 1889) and the field to the east was called 'Fishpond Meadow'. The pond is roughly square, about 42m across. The configuration of drainage channels upstream hints at the former presence of two further ponds, each about 75m long.
The pond may be connected with the castle and may have formed part of a wider ornamental landscape (see NPRN 400223).
