Description
This pit working is located to the south-east of Pen-y-groes. It opened during the 1840s. Early maps portray pits, tips, tramway formations and pumping apparatus. Its output in 1882 was 1642 tons with 98 men. By 1898 87 men were employed but by 1937-8 only 36. It was worked in recent times for its green slates. No further information.
