Description
Caermeinciau slate quarry is located on the upland west of Llanberis. A small and entirely unmechanised quarry, it operated during the 1870s and 1880s, on the site of a much earlier undertaking. There was no railed access though material may have been carted to the Ffridd incline. In 1883 output was 300 tons with 12 men. By 1898 eight men were employed. It may have continued operating into the post-War period.
Little now remains of the site aside from rubbish runs overlying much earlier rubbish runs.
