Extensive tramway system serving a number of slate quarries NW of Llanberis; earlist depiction on OS County series (Caernarvon. XVI.7 & 8, 11 & 12, 1889) shows a mature system, with indications of several disused sections: from its junction with the Caernarvon and Llanberis Railway (SH57376078), on the shores of Llyn Padarn (where the Graig Fawr Iron Mine aerial ropeway also terminates - see Nprn400659), the system extends, largely along a series of inclines, for c.2.3km WSW to Chwarel Fawr Quarry (SH55225988); including what appear to be individual quarry tramways, the system extends over an area c.3.0km by 900m.
