Description
This complex comprises a small semi circular earthwork enclosure (bank with internal ditch), encompassing 300 sq. metres of sloping ground, together with a stream side terrace upon which the remains of a rectangular hut, 6m x 3.5m is situated. Appended to the north of this enclosure is a large rectilinear earthwork enclosure, encompassing 1,550 sq. metres with an entrance in its north-west corner and evidence of a division in the north-east corner. The size and absence of any structure suggests that this enclosure may have performed some communal function for all of the huts within the Hafod complex (NPRN 409468).

Excavation of the hut during 1973-74, revealed that the huts walls had been extensively robbed and only the gritstone boulder footings of the north-west corner remained. A hearth was situated at the west end of the hut and the interior clay floor was found to overlay several large pits containing burnt material suggesting some specialised use of the site before the hut was built. Outside the hut were a series of drainage gullies. It has been suggested that the stones from this hut may have been used to build or refurbish, another building in the Hafod group. The substantial quantities of finds from the excavations of the whole Hafod group dates occupation here to the 15th or 16th century.
