A D-shaped earthwork feature/platform, its straight edge, c.12m NW-SE, resting on a linear feature that extends c.30m to the NW & 80m to the SE & S, on the line of a boundary shown on OS County series (Glamorgan. XXXII.3 1878); set at the foot of W-facing slopes, facing the castle (Nprn94508) across a c.60-70m level sward: a sharp-profiled rectilinear earthwork platform is situated immediately below the castle on this site, possibly a municiple landscaping feature.
