DescriptionAn estate village built between the 1830s and about 1860 by the then Lord Newborough. Various estate cottages are clustered around the parish church (NPRN 301810). The earlier examples are in a picturesque Gothic style. Some are grouped together in varied architectural compositions, for example: the Crescent (NPRN 26353); the picturesque Gothick Church Cottages (NPRN 26263) and Cae'r Llwyn Cottages (NPRN 26173); the classical School Cottages (NPRN 16830). The gothic village school (NPRN 301410) was also built at this time and the inn (NPRN 26595) was rebuilt. There are also two troughs or fountains, built as miniature classical temples (NPRN 32221, 32595).
Other cottages involved in this scheme include: row north of church (NPRN 301426-8)
Rose Cottage (NPRN 16810)
