Description
This Roman bronze cup, with a handle in the form of a leopard, dates to the first century AD and was found near Abergavenny, Monnmouthshire. Analysis has shown that the spots on the leopard are silver and the eyes were inlaid with amber. The cup had been placed upside down in a small pit containing cremated human bones. It is on display in the National Museum of Wales in Cardiff.
