Early 19th century reports that this hill-summit site shows traces of a ruinous enclosure, or encampment, have been repeated but not confirmed.

2. Analysis of LiDAR data in 2024 by Steve Spon identified an oval earthwork enclosure at this location, measuring some 180m across, defined by a plough-denuded bank and outer ditch. On the east side the enclosure fades out where it intercepts a valley. The enclosure may be that named in the 'Castle Hill' placename just to the west. It is likely to be a Late Bronze Age or Iron Age hillfort.
