Description
The finds location of a bronze hand gun, of hackbut type, dating early 16th century and now held by the National Museum of Wales.

Event and Historical Information:
The cannon was recovered just off the southern coast of Bardsey Island by a diver in 1981. In 1982-3, a number of cannons were reported as lying in the surrounding gullies. Subsequent investigation of the site by the Archaeological Diving Unit in 1991 failed to discover any further archaeological material, and some doubt has been expressed as to the accuracy of the location given.
