A memorial to commemorate the battle of Hyddgen (nprn 402310; several km to the northeast), was unveiled on 16 July 1977. A slate plaque is set in a stone pillar at the east end of Nant-y-moch dam; the plaque reads: "TO COMMEMORATE OWAIN GLYNDWR'S VICTORY AT HYDDGEN IN 1401 I GOFIO'R SAWL A DDISGYNNODD YN Y FRWYDR"
