The village of Cwmystwyth is situated about eight miles south west of Llangurig and fifteen miles south east of Aberystwyth. It is about a mile west of the Cwmystwyth lead mines (NPRN 115). In the middle of the village stands the Welsh Calvinistic Methodists chapel (NPRN 7307), with a Sunday School and chapel house attached.
