Description
This building, part of Penpont Manor [NPRN 16026] is situated just south of the River Usk and north of the A40, 6km west of Brecon. It lies 75m to the west of the main building, aligned north-south on the west side of the lane and just south-east of the Dovecote [NPRN 31250]. It is a large barn of 10 bays, built of rubble with a corrugated roof covering. There are two sets of opposed doorways in the 3rd and 8th bays. The walls have large rectangular openings between piers at the upper level. There are buttresses on the west side of the building. The roof has ten bays with collar-and-tie-beam trusses.
