Description
The Bwlch Cerrig Duon Cist now lies near a lay-by on the east side of the road from Trecastell to Tafarn-y-garreg (about 25m from the road). It consists of a slab 1.15m long (from east to west), 0.5m high and 0.12m thick set along the south side of a linear hollow 1.75m long, 0.4m wide and 0.1m deep. Two smaller stones lying close by are perhaps fragments of other cist members. It lies on a platform measuring from 25-30m across projecting from the valley side. There are no obvious traces of a cairn but the site's proximity to the road and the undulating character of the platform suggest a former cist-cairn quarried away for road construction.
