Court-y-Gaer Hilllfort occupied a rounded summit, but it is now ringed by a conifer plantation and has been almost totally removed by a stone quarry. Aerial reconnaissance on 2 December 2004 shows the survival of a massive, but deunded, rock cut ditch on the southern flanks of the hill extending to SO 1184 3030.
