Parchmarks show an approximate 200m section of a metalled linear feature, diverging from the course of the modern road just north of the river crossing at Pont Rhydygelli and running north through the field to merge again with the course of the modern road at approximately SN 643638. This would appear to be the line of the Roman road Sarn Helen. Parchmarks nearby showing buried hollows may also represent irregular roadside quarry pits. Recorded during aerial reconnaissance on 14th July 2003, neg. refs. 2003-cs-1400 and 2003/5106-57.
