Description
A burnt mound is located on the crest of a steep N-facing slope at 380m above OD.

When approached from the west, the site presents as a platform projecting from the slope. The 'level area' measures 10m (N-S) by 4m-5m wide and is 'cut back' to 0.3m deep. However, it is clear that this 'platform' is soft and peaty and is probably the site of a spring head. The projecting mound measures 11m (E-W) by 10m and about 1.75m high above the slope. It is turf-covered and stony with a gravel texture (probing and sheep scrape evidence) consistent with the make-up of burnt mounds.
