Description
One half of a pair of Vaynol estate cottages, dating to the mid 19th century.

Constructed in the picturesque cottage style of rubble stone with slate roofs and paired brick stacks, one at the end and one to the ridge of the parallel rear wing, the chimneysa having paired, diagonally set shafts with nogged brick cornices. There is a T-plan front range of two storeys, with a three-windowed front with a central gabled projection which includes a recessed porch and window above. This porch has an elliptical arch and a half glazed doror within, and has patterned tracery to the overlight.

The windows are all iron-traceried, mullion and transom type, the tracery being in elongated hexagons with a lozenge row between. the openings have stone voussoirs and slate sills.

Internally the cottage is said to retain stairs with square cut balusters on a cut string with shaped brackets, marble mantels and wide-baorded doors.
