DescriptionThe remains of an eighteenth century tower windmill stand on the summit of Foel Fawr. The windowless, roofless circular tower is built of rubblestone and has two entrances, one on the east side directly to the ground floor and another on the north side which incorporate steep steps which might have led directly to the first floor. The floor no longer exixts, but its level is marked by an internal shelf which would have carried the joists. Above there are six beam pockets, which may relate to refurbishment rather than to timbers supporting the mill machinery.
