Description
Built 1851 in a simple Classical style, to 3-storeys and basement, with modern attic. It is built of colourwashed brick to the front, with raised long and short quoins, a dentil cornice, a plinth and band courses. It has slate roofs, with brick end chimney stacks with moulded caps and a slate hung attic to the centre. There are cross-pattern railings o the front.

There is a projecting 5-window main range, with further ranges to either side. These are lit mainly by sash windows with marginal glazing bars, with casement windows to the attic. The main range has corbelled cills, with bracketed lintels to the second floor, architraves and pedimented lintels to the first floor and plain lintels and architraves to the ground floor. There is a central, flat roofed, porch with a cornice, and modern signs over the broad entry with Art Nouveau patterned, small paned, glass. A former window to the right has been made into another doorway.

There are three-storey ranges to either side, a 2-window range to left and a 4-window range to the right, both with similar sash windows but with plainer detail. The Buttery Bar to the extreme left end beyond the quoins has a similar 2-window front and is included for its group value, but has a modern bar front with a 6-panel door.

The return right side is splayed across the corner, with one sash window as before. Beyond is a narrow modern extension and further sash windows, as there are also to the roughcast rear where there is a large modern extension to the left.
