Description
Medieval timber-framed open-hall house, originally a single bay hall set between a narrow inner room at one end and, possibly, a cowhouse at the other. In the seventeenth century a massive chimney was built within the hall and the external walls were re-built in stone, further alterations during the seventeenth century included the addition of a parlour wing and a porch, dated 1750. Of the medieval hall-house, three cruck-couples were reported as surviving in Brooksby's site report of 1995.
