The early 6in and 25in Ordnance Survey maps show 'Bryn Dychwelwch (Supposed)'.
According to the Clwyd Powys Archaeological Trust, "Bryn Dychwelwch can be translated as the 'Hill of Retreat'. It has been linked to the 1157 Battle of Coleshill [some 2km to the east; nprn 402325] but probably relates to a nearby hollow." (no.100319)
