Description
"In 1049 . . . Gruffydd [ap Rhydderch] led with alacrity the thirty-six ships of the [Danish] pirate fleet to the mouth of the Usk, and, when they had done sufficient mischief there passed with them across the Wye to the Great English manor of Tidenham, which was also ravaged without mercy."
