DescriptionThe Lower Leat began at a sluice (SN91920837) on the south side of the Middle Weir (NPRN:405090) and ran along the south bank of the river to an aqueduct (NPRN:405097) at SN91550820. The channel is still clearly visible and in places is cut directly into the rock of the river cliff. West of the aqueduct, the leat ran south of the Mills (NPRN:405076) serving the turbine and, after 1898, the waterwheel and turbine of the Sudan Mills (NPRN:405075) before discharging into the river at SN91420813.
