Part of the Elan Aqueduct (nprn 95469), itself part of the Elan Valley Water Scheme (nprn 96459), Fron Tunnel is 1307m long. Its western end is at the Clywedog syphon outlet (nprn 309628), and at its eastern end it joins the western end of the Aran Conduit (nprn 309631) at SO 1027 6597.
