Description
Bivallate cropmark enclosure surviving on south-west facing slope above the river of the Nant Rhyd-hir. Remains comprise a fine rectangular enclosure with a rounded south-western end which tapers slightly the north-east. The bivallate ditches are parallel to one another and the whole is very symmetrical, raising the possibility that this might be a Romano-British, rather than Iron Age, enclosure. The site measures approximately 47m NE/SW x 32m NW/SE. The south-western part of the cropmark is partly obscured by pitting or damper ground. There may be further enclosures along the hillslope to the north-west, only hinted at by the cropmarks. Discovered during RCAHMW aerial reconnaissance on 3rd August 2006 (see frames AP_2006_4134-36).
