DescriptionIn existence by 1850 the icehouse is located on the bank directly opposite the entrance to the stables (see nprn 404765). This twin-chambered icehouse, unique in Wales, is formed by an oblong mass of brickwork held together by iron bands, 7.8m long, 4m wide and 3.1m high. The inner face of the icehouse is now concealed by a bank slip, so the door cannot be seen. The chambers themselves are partially filled with rubbish, but greatest diameter is 3m.
