Description
The icehouse faces north east, with steps that lead down to a 6m long L-shaped passage overall. It leads to a brick chamber with curved end walls measuring 4.5m x 2.4m, and 2.8m deep; with stone vaulting. There is a vent in the roof to the top of the mound c.3m above. The icehouse is shown on the 1887 OS 6 inch map.
