Description
A gentry house, built in the early nineteenth century by the proprietor of the Hay to Brecon Tramway (NPRN 34623) at the line's principal depot. Possibly incorporates an earlier house. The main block has three storeys and a basement, and has three bay main elevations. It is flanked by two storey ranges to either side.

The house stood in the midst of the depot, but within ornamental grounds, with a terraced drive leading down to the highroad below The tramway ran immediately south-east of the house and its grounds, the later railway running further south-east again. There are remains of bunkers and storehouses to the north-east of the house, beyond which is what appears to be a walled kitchen garden. These features are depicted on OS County series first edition (Brecknock. XXIII.2 1889).
