Description
A crossing keeper's cottage stands immediately adjacent to the level crossing at Croesnewydd North Junction on the west side of the railway line. Probably built c1846 as part of the original Shrewsbury and Chester Railway Company, it is of roughly coursed and squared stone with a fishscale slate roof. It is wo storeyed, with north, west and east facing gables, each with ornate fretted bargeboards, and a lower gabled wing to the south. The entrance is in the north facing gable, the door recessed in a segmentally arched architrave with side lights in stressed painted stone architraves.
