Description
1. Felin Bran was a water-powered cornmill on the river Bran, just south east of the village of Myddfai. It had a long leat supplying a pond close to the mill. It is shown on the Ordnance Survey 25 inch to the mile maps of 1886 and 1906 as a working mill. Some later mapping names the mill as Felin Fran.

2. Felin Bran was one of two water grist mills established in the manor of Myddfai by the fourteenth century (1). It lies little more than one kilometre from the present day edge of open land and is therefore likely to have been even closer to it during the Middle Ages. On the open land today, on this part of Mynydd Myddfai, have been recorded several areas of relict cultivation which may have been served by this mill.
