Description
The Froncysyllte Institute is probably of stone construction, like the canal workers mess (NPRN 406527), the building is currently rendered. This building is located to the rear right-hand side of the workers mess and adjoins it. It has a single rectangular plan, with a of centre door way entrance to the front of the building, with a wooden framed window opining to the left and a large double door machinery entrance way to the right. There is also a large double door machinery entrance way in the gable end of the building, indicative of later and current use of this building by British Waterways for canal storage and maintenance purpose.
The Institute has also been used to educate the children of the canal workers in one of its former uses.
