Description
This large lime kiln is some 25m north of Llandyfan House (NPRN 17508), which forms part of Llandyfan Farmstead (NPRN 407331). It is set into a steep bank, adjacent to the north-west boundary of the farm yard. Clearance of trees, overgrowth and buildings below has revealed the partially infilled crucible, and shown that the front wall has been undermined by levelling of the farmyard below.

The kiln is Grade II listed, and is also a Scheduled Ancient Monument. It was first referred to in documents of 1758. The kiln is constucted of rubble stone and comprises double recessed eyes, seperated by a central pier, under a double arch, originally with with stone voussoirs.
