Description
A tramroad linking Ynys-Arwed Colliery to both the Neath Canal and the Vale of Neath Railway. NGR at canal.

In the 1870s (OS 1st ed.25") the tramroad had two inclines going up the W. valley scarp with a short spur line at the top of the more southerly incline, and the tramroad having a tipping staithe just S. of Ty Bont Bridge. The tramroad continued across the bridge and over the Neath River bridge to a double tipping staithe on the Vale of Neath Railway. By 1897, the canal staithe had gone out of use but the older two inclines of the tramroad were still in use with a third scarp incline added to the SW.
