Description
Folly Tower in Pontypool Park, built c1770, was a main focal point in the park until it fell into decline in the 1930's. The tower was demolished in 1940, because of Ministry of Defense concerns for the nearby Royal Ordnance Factory at Glascoed (Nprn: 306324), but rebuilt from the foundations in 1993 when a time capsule was inserted within the walls.

Approximately 20 feet tall, the tower was hexagonal with round-headed windows had castellated battlements.
